Soap at the Church Picnic

What a LOVELY day for a picnic! Sunny, 80 degrees, light breeze & low humidity. They had what they call a "quarter auction" today at our church picnic -what fun! There were lots of homemade goodies, apple butter, zucchini relish, fudge, cookies, hand knit scarves, and yes, some handmade soap!

For those of you who (like me) have never been to a quarter auction it's basically where, you buy a "ticket", which is your bid number, and if you like an item, put a quarter in the cup on your table. They draw the tickets out of a bowl, and whoever has the winning ticket gets the item.

Lots of fun. Hubby won a bottle of wine, and son a bag of homemade cookies and chocolate-dipped pretzels. Proceeds go to an area pre-school serving underpriveledged kids.

It was a nice relaxing day, good food, fun, and even a bit of fishing. Now I'm hitting the hammock and catching up on a bit more rest!

Hope you all had a great weekend. I'll be announcing the winner of the HP lemongrass soap & it's official name tomorrow!
