I had one of my "moments" when an idea that had been percolating in my head actually came together, and action was taken! I love when that happens! :D I wanted to do a Christmas soap that included the Star of Bethlehem, as well as the passage "We have seen His star in the East and have come to worship Him." Matt. 2:1-2
I'm hoping that the Alkanet root powder will make the "sky" part of the soaps nice and dark like the night sky, but I guess I'll find out tomorrow. This photo was taken just after I poured the soap:
I don't know yet if I'll sell these or keep them to give as gifts....
Looking so forward to Christmas! ~Becky

You are one talented, creative soap sister. :-)
I love it! looks like a lot of work! Can't wait to see the soap cut and what alkanet surprises you with!!! xoxo Jen
How appropriate! I look forward to seeing the cut bars and how the alkanet color turns out!
Hi Jen, Jen and Maggie!
Well, so far the alkanet color is o.k.....not a dark as I had hoped for, I think I should have infused longer. I have a new mixture "steeping" as I write, and I hope to make another batch maybe Sunday afternoon. I'm wanting that DARK purply color that was such a surprise back when.
I do like the look, and will be packaging them in Amy Warden's "smell-through" shrink wrap that she sells at Great Cakes Soapworks (here's the link: http://www.greatcakessoapworks.com/catalog.php?category=17)
I bought two of her LOVELY soaps: "Almost Paradise" and "Watermelon" that were packaged in this shrink wrap and couldn't believe how well I could smell their fragrances right through the plastic! Since "smells sell" I just have to try it. :D Hope you all have a lovely day!
Fantastic! This is such a cute idea! I'm sure Alkanet root powder will make a really great night sky. I'm so excited to see these cut.
hey Becky,
it looks very cute! How does the soap smell like?

Hi, Thanks for stopping by! The fragrance on this one is a blend of EO's: Almond, Fir Needle, Lavender and just a splash of Grapefruit. I really like how it's turned out! :) ~Becky
