New Natural Soap for 2011

The last two days have been productive -at least for this oft-sidetracked soaper (now that my EOs, clays and butters have arrived -FINALLY!)

Today's four batches of homemade soaps are pictured at right:

  • Lemon-Mint Chiffon new new new!

  • Goats Milk-Honey,  my bestselling face soap

  • Eucalyptus Mint, my classic "lye soap"scent, now in a moisturizing bath bar.

  • "Flynn" a complex sea-faring blend that includes sweet orange, bay, cinnamon, sweet fennel & amyris esential oils (inspired by an original swashbuckler at his handsome best!)

Yesterdays batches included

  • "Lava Lamp 2011"  -imagine clean lavender soap,  swirled with a soap of sweet orange, sweet fennel & ylang ylang.  Sophisticated, unisex scent is captivatingly complex.

  • "Pink Lavender" w/Oatmeal & Lavender Blossoms   -photos coming soon...

Oh my god! This all look amazing!!! Can you tell me what colours you used? The colours look beautifully bright! Intrigued! Also the EO combinations sound awesome and sofisticated and wow! You make me want to try more EO blending. I really love do love it. I am getting rather low on EOs and am waiting for a few more sales before placing a large order! xo Jen

Hi Jen, and thank you! The colorants were natural ones...alkanet root, carrot tissue oil (although the May Chang -Lemon was a bit yellow to start with....I'm hoping the combo helps the yellow "hold") The orangey color is Red Moroccan Clay. Again, I know the EO's contributed to the color in that one. I'm interested to see what they may morph into over the next few weeks. (I would love it if they stayed "as-is", but that's doubtful.) :)

Thanks Lyn, I can hardly wait to cut them and see how they look! It will be interesting to see how the scent develops during curing. I'm crossing my fingers! :)

My ...you have been one busy soap bee, Beckster! They all look so deliciously lovely resting in their molds. I'm reminded of Baskin Robbins (sp?) 31 flavors, is that place still around? I use to go there as a kid, totally overwhelmed by all the choices, flavors, colors. Never knew which one to pick, but i always ended up with strawberry and chocolate. Boring kid. So your new soaps look like that, I would know which one to choose from..all so lovely :)

D'oh! *facepalm*

'Bongs -never fear, I didn't even catch it! :) I think they still have Baskin Robbins....none around here, though. When faced with too many choices I tend to default to something I know I will like, too.
Glad you like the colors. I was pretty happy with 'em -much more vibrant than my usual thanks to the Alkanet and clays. :)
