"Mimosa-Rosa!" Natural Handmade Soap

Yowza!  This is a newbie natural soap, and the first batch sold out right away with my family, friends and retailers( before it made it into my online store!)  Extra softening for hands, and a super natural soap for shaving....I think you all will LOVE this one!

I listed it today, here's the detailed description from my soap shoppe:

Uplifting and "fresh cut grassy" fragrance is just in time for spring.  This natural handmade soap is infused with Mimosa Floral wax which not only softens the scent of palmarosa essential oil, it leaves your skin feeling softened, too!  The best leg-shaving soap we've ever used!  The tiny mimosa wax particles suspended in the soap exfoliate when rubbed directly on wet skin, but are smooth and silky when used on a washcloth or pouf.  Lovely pink bar with generous amounts of shea, mango & cocoa butters will moisturize and pamper your skin.

As fast as the last batch went, I'd better snag a bar for myself! :D

Cute Little Shavers!

Yesterday's project: Lemongrass Shaving Soaps.  Aren't they cute? Maybe I'm just giddy that they came out of the molds! : )

Do you ever get that "sinking feeling" towards the end of a new technique or procedure that it may have been nothing but a waste of time and resources?  I had that feeling this morning when it came time to un-mold.   "Hmmmmm, what if they don't come out....what if I have to dig the soap out of the mold with a knife and spoon...what if..."

Boy, those "what if's" can be killers, can't they?  How many times I fail to even try something because of those pesky "what if's"!   Which leads me to a better "what if":  "What if" I could remove all the "what if's" from my thinking?"   Now there's a "what if" to spend my time on!   I think that just for today, I'm going to give them the heave-ho!

Happy skin!  ~Becky

Little Shaving Soaps

Well, here is a photo of the shaving soaps I made yesterday. This afternoon I got to wondering about Bentonite. I knew it was a clay that helps give shaving soap its "slip", but I wondered if it might have some other benefits for the skin.

You all may know this already, but it was a pleasant surprise to me.

"Up until recently because of the unique compound and the fact that it can only be found in certain areas the volcanic clay ash was only used in the most exclusive spas. One that only the wealthy and the famous could afford, now this secret has been opened to the masses in a number of beauty products that can make it possible for everyone to enjoy the wonders and benefits of this well kept skin purifying and beautifying secret.

Volcanic Ash clay can help to beautify and purify the skin. It draws away the toxins and poisons that every day life puts on your skin letting its natural beauty show through. It can also help to reduce the signs of aging, give the skin a youthful appearance, and glow. It also helps reduce the signs of sun damage and the appearance of cellulite and acne. It really is one of the best ways to treat your skin."

This is a partial quote from an article by Lori Matthews which can be found here:

After reading about the wonders of bentonite, and since I have a bag of the powdered wonder just sitting on my shelf, I decided to include it in a batch of my Oatmeal & Honey complexion soap. It will be ready to ship in four weeks, but you know I'll be using/testing it before then. I'm anxious for the "reducing the signs of aging" thing! Not to mention the cellulite thing! : )

I'll let you all know if I wake up someday suddenly sleek and beautiful! LOL
