"Houston...we may have a problem..."

As I was showering this a.m., I actually noticed how many soaps have found their way onto our soap rack. (You know how sometimes you don't actually "see" some of the stuff you look at every day?)

I had to chuckle, and then wonder if my soapin' buds had similar collections in their bathrooms? (I sure HOPE you do!)

Then I thought of my kitchen soap dish....hmmm...
Does anyone else out there have this kind of conglomeration at their sink? Surely you must? Has this gotten out of control...should I be concerned? Am I a soap hoarder? Will I be 90 years old and surrounded by 4ft. piles of soap? Where will it end.....sooooooooaaaaappp! ;)

We usually have two different bars in the shower, but I have a large assortment of bars that are not mine stashed under the sink, very (im)patiently waiting to be used. My dish on the bathroom sink holds the mess of small pieces, the last remnants of bars from the shower that are now going to be used up on faces. My kitchen sink dish also holds small pieces for now. Once I work through the stuff I'm addicted to buying, trading, winning I will try to keep more of my own stuff in use.

My husband is kinda funny. He does this mild boycott thing of all bars but mine and scolds me now and then about "Why do you make it if you're not going to use it?"

Okay, I might as well come out of the closet. I too hoard soaps in the shower and at the kitchen sink. I like to keep several esp. in the shower so that I can pick a soap to suit my fancy. :>) What can I say it's the life of a soapaholic!

The very same! And ours are all different shapes, too, because we use the funky ends that we don't sell. Too funny! It didn't even occur to me that there were other nuts like us out there.

Hello, my name is Courtney and I'm a soap hoarding addict. I currently have about 8 bars of soap in my shower. I always have various end pieces of soap around the bathroom and kitchen sink. I have at least a dozen bars waiting in the line up eager to embrace a slow sudsy death. The best part of it all? My husband has become something of a soap snob now because of it! He used to use an all in one manpoo by Loreal or Old Spice. Now it is homemade all the way!

Okay... now that we are all confessing... I too have hoarded. In the kitchen, I am doing very well right now with only 1 soap!! In the guest bathroom, I have three right now - and in the main bathroom where we shower - 3 by the sink and 6 in the shower area, including your wonderful facial soap and shaving soap (the facial soap followed us on our recent vacation by the way). Actually, I think it is an essential part of our work - to test our soaps out. I have so many new soaps of my own and from swaps to try out that it is hard to wait till another soap finishes! xo Jen

I used to hoard, several by the washroom sinks and more in the shower. The only reason why I can manage to keep the number down to less than 3 is because it's the only way to stop Hubby from asking me, "which soap should I use now?" :D

Actually, no I don't have this problem, amazingly. I do piggy-back my bars of soap, however. When one gets real little, I stick it to the new bar so I don't waste one little piece. But I use one bar at a time.

You guys are a hoot! So glad to hear I'm not alone in this "syndrome" ;) Jen, I love that you've given me the PERFECT and ACCURATE response: "It's part of my work." -I'm giggling, but it IS true! It's a good thing. If only I could get paid for my time spent in the shower on R & D! :)
Thanks ladies, for being silly with me today...I needed it! Have a lovely evening. ~Becky

I so love reading your posts Becky, they always brighten my day, as more often than not they make me laugh, just as this one has. Too funny, I thought I was the one who might be a bit strange with all the different soaps in the shower, it's so nice to know that it seems to be quite normal. But like Jen said we have to try them before people buy them:) but you win hands down with the kitchen dish soaps, can't quite compete with that one LOL. We also use all the end cuts, or the ones that don't quite make the grade.
