It's A Wonderful (Honey Graham Marble) Life...

I made this HP 97% Natural Handmade Soap the other day....I was feeling creative and was iced in for the day so I dusted off my trusty soapin' crock pots and went to work.  I had plans.....big plans....I knew what I wanted, and set about creating it.   And then.....

Well, lets just say (those of you who don't want to hear/read about faith and/or "religion" (gasp!)  may just want to surf elsewhere, now....this probably won't interest you)... lets just say that God had different plans for this batch.  Or maybe it was me who needed to be reminded of Who is ultimately in control?

I was going to make this the batch of a lifetime, with a fragrance that would be positively spellbinding...exotic, intoxicating....you get the idea....can anyone see P-R-I-D-E creeping into this scenario?

Anyway, I'm perking along...about 2 hours into the 3 hour cook....and I decide to add HONEY, as I usually do in my CP soaps.   I mean, you cook with honey, right?  I know I'll have to "watch it" so it doesn't burn, yada yada yada.  But I love what honey does for my skin....it's such a great humectant, antibacterial, natural preservative...I just KNEW it would make this soap awesome...

How many time has getting cocky caused me "issues"?   How many times have I had a "great idea" that caused me WAY more work and sometimes heartache?  How many times did I have grand, prideful plans that  didn't work out the way I thought?

The good news?  The soap turned out really pretty, I think, and it smells like a Honey Graham Cracker.   Not exactly what I would call "spellbinding", but that's o.k.

Things don't always work out the way I want....I can get mad a God about that, and I have, at times, -believe me.   I've lost loved ones "too soon" in my estimation...."too many of them" in my estimation..... or I can remember Who is at the helm, and that he has a good plan for me.  In truth, my "spellbinding life" is often times a "Honey Graham Life", (who's isn't)  but I take comfort in the fact that the final outcome will be spellbinding!

Meanwhile, I'm choosing to enjoy the "graham crackers!"  Would somebody pass the milk, please?

I'd say it turned out pretty well. Eat your humble pie and move on! :)

Well, that humble pie is o.k with a glass of milk! (I prefer BBQ sauce when I have to eat crow, though! LOL!) Actually, my tireless imagination is already formulating another "masterpiece" -some people never learn! :D

Well Becky, I won't really call this a "surprise batch" because they look so wonderful, like you intended them to look this way. Always enjoy reading your stories, your words have magic that, even though you're so far away, I can almost see you telling the stories in my kitchen over a cup of coffee!

Been there so many times, SoapSista...so many times. Happy lil' accidents, right? I've ended up loving them, those that I thought were unseenly, never able to reproduce what seemed to have been my own eff up. I too love Graham Crackers, can't buy them here :(

"Auee-auee-auee!" (You have to use your imagination here...that was me shaking my head back and forth REALLY FAST 'til my cheeks rattled) NO GRAHAM CRACKERS?!? That does not compute...alas, 'bong I need another cup of coffee to think clearly after that startling revelation....THUNK! ....................................................oops! What happened? I think I must have PASSED OUT on the way to the coffee pot!

I'm so sorry about the GC's (or lack thereof).........hmmmmm, I think I know what Santa should bring you, kiddo! Have you thought about making them & selling them to those poor crackerless folks?? Good grief -you would become a Zillionaire!

Thanks so much Maggie! Wish we could have that cuppa java and a chat! :) I'm sure we would get the gallopin' sillies in no time!

Oh yeah! Love the graham crackers. Whenever Mom would bake a cake she always spread the leftover icing on graham crackers -yummmmm! Chocolate was my favorite, but any variety is fabulous. With about a quart of milk...:D

What the heck are Graham crackers? I have no idea!!! they don't sound too appetizing, but I'll take your word for it Becky and I'd gladly pass you milk anyday:) I think your soap looks beautiful, even if it does smell like Graham LOL

Love your snow flakes! I had to look twice, I thought I was seeing things:))

"KA-THUNK!"..........(elevator music plays)......."We are experiencing technical difficulties....please stand by".......(more elevator music).....

So sorry, I seem to have fainted and hit my head again...(that's two days in a row....I think tomorrow I'll sit on the floor....)

Seriously, Jan, my precious soaping sister.....I'm so sorry you've never heard of or had a "graham cracker". I must send you some one of these days..... I actually looked it up in the dictionary to try to find a really fitting description, but their entry certainly doesn't do them justice. "A slightly sweet cracker made with whole wheat flour". Honestly, that's what they are, but the taste defies definition...(maybe that's why the dictionary was so lame...)

We make "s'mores" around campfires using these lovely crackers (more like a flat crispy cookie), marshmallows & chocolate. You always want "some more" -hence the name.
I'm wondering if they just go by a different name over there?

Anyone have a better description or opinion of Graham Crackers? Please share. :)

Ah..Graham Crackers..simplicity in cookie form at its best. Every time I'm States side I overindulge in their honey, malty, crisp and crackly goodness. So much one can do with GC...for example, they make a great pie crust for cheese cake. Beckster, this is crying for business! You'll be the GC connection and I'll distribute. Didn't someone juts the other day mention my marketing skills? Gurl, we need to do some serious pow wow. Enlighten the GC-less world!

Hee hee hee! I was thinking the same thing, C'bong....throw art and soap out the window & become the GC Queens! I'm tellin' you it's CRIMINAL that people can't rip open a ream of these with a gigantic glass of milk and go crazy! ( It's one of the best therapies around for hormone swings of all kinds.) And the pie crust -oh, mercy I forgot all about that! The BEST cheesecakes here ALWAYS have a GC crust.....hmmmmm....there is a need here that must be filled! 'Bongs, we need a plan...
