Heirloom Labels, Revisited

Jen at Jenora soaps suggested this post topic.   A peek at "tweaked" and re-tweaked Heirloom Soapworks labels.

Vintage photos of my family members originally gave my labels an "Heirloom-ey" nostalgic feel.  Back then I put the soaps in cello bags with the label and folded/sealed them.

Next came the colored labels...and more natural papers.

I'm a bit too lazy tonight to seek out any more oldies, but these will give you an idea of the changes I've made over the years.

I wish I could say that I'll stay "satisfied" with the current versions of my labels...but alas: "Once a tweaker, always a tweaker."

Ha ha, once a tweaker, always a tweaker. Good one. I really like the nostalgia you're drawing upon with the old timey photos of your family. =)

Awesome! Thank you so much for this. I loved seeing the evolution of your labels and I have to mention I really like the green oval logo with the photo on it, and of course your final labels are lovely. Sounds like you have been in this for a lot of years! Thanks so much Becky! xoxo Jen

All your labels are great Becky, it's really interesting to see how things change over the years, my favourite is the fourth one down, I think it really suits your name Heirloom Soapworks, but of course they are all really nice:)

Hi Jen and Jan!

Thanks for the sweet comments, you are so kind to appreciate my efforts.

I found my favorite men's soap label with my Dad's picture on it (when he was 18)....I just saw it the other day and now it's been mislaid somewhere within these 4 walls! When I find it again, I'll be sure to share that one.

Ladies, I always liked the oval label, too. I'm glad to hear that I'm not the only one! I think I'll work to re-vamp it...maybe with a different color oval that would "go" with more colors. Here I go again...tweak tweak tweak.

Hey, I just thought of my new theme song "Tweak-tweak-tweak...tweak-tweak-tweak....tweak those la-bels, tweak those la-bels yeah." -sung to the tune of the old disco (yes I'm that old) hit "Shake Your Booty" :) Boy, that's validating -a song about my "affliction" -love it! Feel free to join in on the chorus all my fellow-label tweakers out there! ~Becky

Thanks for the nice comments,

I

Hi Anne-Marie! It's so true...I literally CAN'T STOP tweaking. I guess it's almost a hobby. Thanks, for your comment.
I really am thinking of using the old-time photos again in my "Heirloom Soapworks" brand, and doing keeping my Country Naturals line as more the "modern, fun" look. (Uh-oh, I forgot to even show those labels....ah, subject matter for another post!)

I tweak when I have time...which isn't very often!! I'm in the middle of working with a graphic designer to re-do my website, so doing a lot of tweaks with that.

I like your green ovals too. :)
