"Aubergine Almondine"

"Aubergine Almondine" -well it sounds better than "Purple & Almond" doesn't it? LOL!

I love the rich cherry-almond scent of this natural soap -it reminds me of the old "Jergens" original lotion a bit -only on steroids.

This is the "anti-almond" essential oil blend that my sweet pal Amy Warden over at Great Cakes Soapworks wrote about some time ago.

Since pure bitter almond EO rather freaks me out, I decided to give this natural essential oil blend a try. BINGO!

I think my customers are going to snatch this one up, -seems like there are lots of almond lovers out there.  As always, this is a Limited Edition Soap
-16 bars (minus a couple for yours truly) and it's gone!

If you would like to reserve a bar for yourself or an almond-lover that you hold dear, please let me know at becky@heirloomnaturalsoap.com

Sandalwood-Almond-Oatmeal: All Natural Soap

Ever make a homemade soap that's 100% natural, and  makes you go "Mmmmmmm" everytime you smell it?

Well, that's how my Sandalwood-Almond-Oatmeal turned out.   I love the smell of natural almond eo, and that "dusty" kind of note that sandalwood adds...hopefully my customers will find this one very appealing, as well!

I've added copious amounts of mango butter and cocoa butter to make this natural soap extra gentle and non-drying.  The oatmeal has been ground very finely for the gentlest of exfoliations (you can see the tiny white specks of oatmeal in the photo.)   Honey acts as a humectant to hold much-needed moisture next to the skin.

Ready to ship now, and should be in my retail locations and ready to bathe with by the 25th -YAY!

Working on updated,  natural soap packaging that's in sync with my "Heirloom"  image....rather vintage looking, I hope.

This year my focus needs to be on efficiency and productivity...more retail outlets and greater  demand (which are both great blessings) are forcing me to work "smarter" these days rather than just harder.

BTW, did you all know that January is National Thank You Month?   So, in keeping with that theme, I would like to say Thank You to all of my customers, both retail and wholesale for your continued support as well as to my online followers -I sincerely appreciate your encouragement, ideas and suggestions!  (Please keem 'em comin')   Happy Soapin' to you all!

Just a harmless CP "fix"...

[caption id="attachment_909" align="aligncenter" width="600" caption="Almond & Amyris CP Soap -with Oatmeal and Honey"][/caption]

With all the inventory-boosting CPOP (Cold-Process-Oven-Process) and HP (Hot Process) homemade soaps I've done in the last month, I was craving a session of plain ol' CP (Cold Process) soap-making.  Since this is officially still Christmas Vacation, and really only the Third Day of Christmas -we're taking it way easy here....

However, the soap room called....little dude was wii-ing....surely I could sneak a little time for a harmless CP "fix"....

What a lovely and relaxing 45 minutes!  Got to release a bit of creative energy, minus the crazed "gotta get this done" attitude of the last 8 weeks and (of course, because it didn't really matter) the soap turned out just as I envisioned.  I was in The Soap Zone....relaxed and enjoying the process instead of treating it as a task that must be done.   Amazing how much attitude affects the soap making, isn't it?  Do you all find this to be true, or is it my imagination?

Hope you're enjoying any "down time" you have as much as we are! :D  ~Becky

A "Nutty" Giveaway!

I am a LOVER of fragrance...always have been.   Please don't misunderstand the jist of this post; I adore cold process soap.  Love the moisturizing, love the colors and swirls.  Love the artistry.  However,  I'm really diggin' on this Hot Process thing -mainly because the FRAGRANCE is fantastic! (Gotta work on getting the bars harder, though.)

The fragrances remain so intense and true in the finished bar, that I am hooked...hooked, I tell you!  I've always wanted to do a soap that was truly Almond.  I love that smell.  Well, I've finally found an essential oil blend (previous post) in almond, and a technique (hot process) that doesn't destroy it. Yippee!

I just cut these bars this a.m., and I'm going to try one in a few (gotta hurry this post or I'll be late) but they smell the best, to me, of all the soaps I've made in the last 8 years!  They aren't really "pretty" per se, but I can see the beauty in these babies...and I can surely smell the beauty! :)

I may have to do a giveaway or send my soapin' buds samples or something...I have to share this scent!
What do you think about a "Nutty" giveaway?  Maybe Almond Soap, Bath Salts & Solid Perfume (been experimenting with that, too)   O.K., I talked myself into it.  "A Nutty Giveaway" it shall be.
Just comment to enter, and I'll have my son draw the winner out of a bowl....how about on Friday?
Yes, we'll do it Friday.

There you have it!  Good Luck, Buddies!
